Reading Literature at the Baltic Sea

Wednesday morning: Well, today was a busy day! I found the perfect gift for Charlie and sent it back with a little note. I hope it arrives safely. Also had a phone call from Peter, to see how I am going. It’s so nice that he worries about me, even though Charlie thinks it’s unnecessary. I think Charlie is jealous! I must ring him later and see how he’s missing me.I finished my Collected Works of Shakespeare last night, and noticed in the bookstore downstairs they are selling Anne Rice. It’s some book on vampires. Not exactly a literary masterpiece, but the cover looks interesting. I know, never judge a book… but I am sorely tempted! I wonder what Charlie would say.

Dear Diary,
Thursday morning: This Rügen hotel is just perfect for relaxing. Today I read by the pool, my new novel – Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire. I tried ringing Charlie to see if he’d read the book but there was no answer. So I took the risk and bought it – how naughty! I’ll try ringing Charlie tonight and see what he’s up to. It’s a good book, though. I am really enjoying it.

Dear Diary,
Friday night: Still no answer at home. I hope Charlie is not mad at me for buying the new book. In desperation I rang Peter, and he said it’s a good thing that Charlie is not home! I don’t understand! I’m not going to call him any more. If Charlie wants to know how I am, he can call me. He didn’t even ring to thank me for the present I sent back.

Dear Diary,
Saturday night: Well I finished the first Anne Rice book and bought the next one! This holiday is exactly what I needed, I am the most relaxed I have been for some time now. Still no word from you-know-who, but Peter rang just a little while ago, and he is so very happy with how I am going. He’s so sweet.
